One of the premier university art museums in the country, the University of Michigan Museum of Art (UMMA) is a meeting place for the arts, bridging campus and community, visual art and contemporary culture, scholarship and accessibility. Its near universal collections and approximately 93,000 square-foot facility allow it to function as both a critical campus and community resource as well as a midsized regional museum. UMMA presents a diverse and dynamic lineup of visual, performing, literary, and film arts year-round in multiple spaces throughout the Museum, extending and contextualizing the art on view in its collections and special exhibitions galleries.
The Annex is a project of the Student Programming and Advisory Council and UMMA’s Education department and is the latest in our efforts to engage students in a meaningful way. We hope students will help shape UMMA in the 21st century - whether by visiting our exhibitions, attending programs, creating events, or by contributing to this blog.

Galleries are open Tuesday through Saturday 11am – 5pm; Sunday 12 – 5pm; closed Mondays. The Forum, Commons, and selected public spaces in the Maxine and Stuart Frankel and the Frankel Family Wing are open daily 8am – 8pm.
SUMMER HOURS (May 1 through August 31):
Galleries open: Tuesday through Saturday 11am – 5pm; Sunday 12 – 5pm; closed Mondays.
